Camps Bay Touchies
If you spend a beautiful late afternoon on the beach, you can’t but notice a bit of excitement over the touch rugby game being played in the Eastern corner. An informal cousin of rugby, and fondly known as “touchies”, this Camps Bay game is, in fact, an institution. Established
17 years ago, it is still going strong twice a week (weather permitting), where enthusiast locals strut their stuff. All social, of course. There are 50-60 regulars, ages ranging from 20 up to the 60’s, and some members even commute all the way from Somerset West to join the game. Do what the locals do - cheer them on, or just join in.

Camps Bay Camps Bay Strip
With its trendy beachfront setting, the beach road features cafe's, restaurants, cocktail venues, coffee bars and champagne bars, offering visitors scenic views of Camps Bays' white sandy beach whilst dining or toasting the end of a perfect day.

Less than 100m from Argyle, you can drop in at the long-standing Sandbar restaurant, or the upmarket and elegant Grand Café. Further along, be enticed by a diverse selection of coffee and breakfast hangouts. Visit the Promenade to stock up on groceries or some of the most highly rated ice cream in town. Then linger on until sundowners, when the strip wakes up to the eclectic rhythms pulsing from the restaurants and clubs until the early hours of the morning.

Mussel Bar The Mussel Bar
This restaurant on the Camps Bay strip boasts a truly unique and local single dish menu. A rustic ambiance, incorporating old school surf movies, lazy Sunday afternoon tunes and tasty food.

The Grand

The Grand
Harking back to an era where life was an altogether more laidback and genteel affair, The Grand in Camps Bay brings a renewed sense of old-fashioned sophistication to Cape Town. Dressed in shades of dusty pink and rich rose hues, The Grand’s sense of nostalgia and relaxed elegance is a welcome reprieve from the ever-buzzing Camps Bay strip.
Like its phenomenally successful predecessor, The Grand Hotel in Plettenberg Bay, Cape Town’s Grand is about pleasure without pretence, style without sham – the go-to place for a pink martini and no-frills food that’s redolent with flavour.
